Waitrose is to open its first convenience store in the Capital, with a store in Crouch End, North London.

The retailer has acquired the former Woolworths at 35-39 Broadway, which has been vacant since January, as it continues to build on its presence in the convenience sector. Waitrose will take over the 6,230sq ft store in September and, following a multi-million pound refurbishment, aims to open by October. Up to 60 job opportunities will be created for the local community and recruitment will begin this week.

Following recent openings in Upminster and Croydon, Crouch End will become the 45th Waitrose store within Greater London as the supermarket continues to expand its portfolio in the capital.
